Josh Hill was hired as a freelance classical 2D animator for a show that was produced in Toronto while he was completing his final year in our Animation Program.Max the Mutt’s curriculum continues to include classical animation throughout the first 3 years, as well as an emphasis on life drawing, anatomy, and drawing for animation, but it is Josh’s passion and the extra hours he’s spent in the classical animation lab that enabled him to grow to the point where he could be hired for this project.
He’s been drawing ever since he was able to hold a pencil. He grew up watching Don Bluth and Disney animated films, and tells us that this played a big part in inspiring him to become an animator. His dream would to be to work on a 2D feature film. Josh can also animate in Harmony and Maya. He enjoyed his fourth year at MTM, which focused on a 3D film project, a simulated animation industry experience that was led by a team of 6 animation professionals. He worked hard on animating for that final student film, and was excited about having started his professional animation career at Yowza! Animation Corp before he graduated! Congratulations, Josh.
